Sonia & Spencer were married at the beautiful Sprucewood Estate Shores Winery.  We’ve known Sonia for years, because we are good friends with her brother, so it was like shooting family.  Sonia & Spencer thank you again for choosing us to document your day.  We had so much fun!

BOY MEETS GIRL

Visiting mutual friends that were roommates in Toronto. They were both originally from the Windsor/Amherstburg area as well.

BOY FALLS IN LOVE WITH GIRL & PROPOSES

During a family photo taken at my mom’s retirement party. We got all the reaction shots! Lots of family was there so we could all celebrate together. It was very exciting!

VENUE & LOCATION

Sprucewood is such a beautiful location and it was important to us to be able to hold the ceremony and reception all in one place. We chose to do it in Windsor as opposed to Toronto so many of our loved ones wouldn’t have to travel too far.

SONIA & SPENCER’S FAVOURITE MOMENTS

Getting ready with the girls, walking down the aisle with my dad, taking the photos in front of the van (swoon!!), the vows, listening to the speeches, THE BAND!! They were so great! THE WHOLE DAY!!!

SONIA & SPENCER’S FAVOURITE DETAILS

My mom gave me the first ring my dad had ever given her as my something borrowed, it was also blue. She’s so sentimental. 🙂 Watching our guests from the balcony as they all arrived and I was hidden. It was nice to see everyone excited and they all looked so wonderful! This includes watching Spencer, he was welcoming everyone and he just looked so happy. It made my heart so happy. Literally, every time I looked at Spence, he looked like such a hunk and so happy!! The moment the VW van pulled up, I hadn’t seen it before and it was exactly what I pictured! I was so happy we got that!! Everyone telling us how beautiful the day was and how the wedding was totally “us”.

WEDDING ADVICE

Have fun with it! Do what makes you and your partner happy. Make a budget, but splurge on things that the two of you both deem essential. Don’t worry about the little things because NO ONE else notices! Enjoy the planning and definitely make time for just you two on the big day!

WHY SONIA & SPENCER CHOSE US TO PHOTOGRAPH THEIR LOVE STORY

We had known you for several years and we knew your work. We loved it, so it was a no brainer!  You guys made us feel comfortable from the first second we walked into your home. You accommodated all our needs and made it easy to chat/make appointments, even though we live in Toronto. I was especially impressed that Nicole remembered all these shot examples that I had sent her. It was amazing, since I had forgotten some of the ones that I really wanted. She was there to get those extra special moments. We wanted the photos to feel candid and real and you guys perfectly captured our vision. Also, you guys really went with our crazy engagement photo shoot idea, which we really wanted and people STILL comment on and love!

HOW SONIA FELT WHEN SHE SAW HER PICTURES FOR THE FIRST TIME

I was browsing a Marshall’s when I got the e-mail that our pictures were ready. I couldn’t wait to get home to look at them. I stood in a corner and looked at them on my phone. I was CRYING!!! I was so in love with them. We have since made a photo book of the day and I will randomly pick it up just to go through them again and I am always happy and reminiscent of the day afterwards!!
