Elise & Eric got married in 2018. They are an awesome couple and we have become friends since getting to know them through their engagement and wedding. Elise & Eric had their first look, ceremony, and reception at the stunning Augustus 27 at Caesars Windsor Casino. In between the first look and ceremony, we went and took pictures at the Low-Martin Mansion, which is one of our favourite places to capture the love of our beautiful clients; it’s classic & timeless. Elise & Eric we love you guys and we’re so happy you chose us to capture your love story.
BOY MEETS GIRL
Eric and I met for the first time at a high school dance, our paths continued to cross, but timing was never right. Finally, 13 years later at a food festival at the Detroit River waterfront, stars were aligned and we have been on the same path ever since.
BOY FALLS & LOVE WITH GIRL & PROPOSES
Eric and I took a stroll down by the Detroit River – when we got to the exact location of our meeting at the food festival, a year and a half earlier, he got down on one knee. I’m really hard to surprise, so he made it an unassuming Wednesday evening, with plenty of fishermen as an audience haha.
ELISE & ERIC’S THOUGHTS LEADING UP TO THE WEDDING
We were so excited to celebrate with all of our family and friends. We wanted it to feel like huge party with all of our loved ones.
VENUE & LOCATION
We wanted an intimate ceremony, but with huge families and friend groups, we needed to look for a spot a bit bigger. We decided to go with Augustus 27, because from the balcony you could see where we “met” for the first time and where Eric proposed. Also – the killer skyline was a big motivating factor since a majority of our guests were out of town.
ELISE & ERIC’S FAVOURITE MOMENTS
The first look on the balcony was very special. We wanted an intimate ceremony, and this was the closest we got to it. Speeches were great! We loved being able to look back at the pictures and see our guests laughing and smiling.
ELISE & ERIC’S FAVOURITE DETAILS
The balcony at the venue was amazing which was great place to spend time at the wedding. The way the venue looked…pictures at the Lowe Martin House…Floral arrangements, which surprised me because the venue is so interesting looking I thought they would get lost, but for me they made a huge difference.
ELISE & ERIC’S FAVOURITE MOMENT WITH JUST THE TWO OF THEM
First look for sure was one of the most special moments. It was so exciting seeing each other and having photos to capture the moment. For us, the ceremony was a bit overwhelming, it didn’t feel like we had time to really concentrate on taking it all in. Whereas, the first look we really had a chance to enjoy each other.
WEDDING ADVICE
At the end of the day you will never please everyone. Make sure your day is about the two of you and your vision. If you want to get married at Chuck E Cheese – go for it – who cares. The more the day is in alignment with your values and views, the easier it will be for you to actually enjoy the day and “take it all in”.
WHY ELISE & ERIC CHOSE US TO PHOTOGRAPH THEIR LOVE STORY
We loved the style of your photography, very trendy and classic at the same time. We were able to find some of the more traditional photos as well as ones that were social media show-stoppers for us to share with our friends. You both are tons of fun and lovely to spend time with. At the end of the day your photographers spend the entire day with you, in even the most intimate moments, it’s important for you to feel comfortable with them and want them to be around. They were both relaxed, organized, professional, and fun.
LOOKING AT THEIR PICTURES FOR THE FIRST TIME
We were so emotional when we saw them. The day of was a bit of a blur, and seeing the pictures brought us back to not only the huge moments, but all the little special pieces in-between. We laughed when we were going through because selecting favourites was essentially pointless since we were selecting almost every photo.
