Kristi & Mackenzie are one of the sweetest couples we’ve ever worked with. They had a beautiful ceremony and one of the sweetest moments was when Kristi sang to Mackenzie. Thank you again Kristi and Mackenzie for letting us capture your love story. We had so much fun!

BOY MEETS GIRL

We met in grade 10 English class. The teacher had us sit alphabetically. Lucky for us, Dupuis followed Chauvin! I, fortunately, became the target for many of Mackenzie’s flirtatious pranks, all semester long!

BOY FALLS IN LOVE WITH GIRL AND BOY PROPOSES

Mackenzie proposed in the gazebo at the family farm, where my grandmother was born and raised. He surprised me there and we danced! When he got down on one knee, held out a beautiful ring box that he had handcrafted!

KRISTI’S THOUGHTS LEADING UP TO HER BIG DAY

Overall, I’d say our thoughts were pretty positive! We knew we were dealing with a lot of very talent professionals – many of which I had worked with in the past or have seen in action. It’s a huge relief when you can trust the vendors you’ve hired to carry out their tasks on your special day. Everyone we worked with we’re easy to approach with questions, and really made us feel like they wanted our day to be perfect!

VENUE & LOCATION

When we came across the Urban Field House, we fell in love with the space! The wooden ceilings grab your eye as soon as you walk in. We loved that it was so simple and yet so beautiful. The goal was to bring the warm rustic, outdoor, harvest feel inside!

KRISTI & MACKENZIE’S FAVOURITE MOMENTS

We asked if it would be possible for us to see and look around the hall before letting any guests enter. Walking in, the hall was absolutely magical and had us both in tears!  Ginette, at Iron Kettle Events and her team are amazing! Of course, the final touch was filling it with all of our friends and family.

During the ceremony, I sang “the Prayer”. I missed Mackenzie’s reaction, but many of our guests mentioned that it was the highlight of their day.

We had our grandmothers as our flower girls! They wanted to wear matching dresses. Luckily one found one that they both liked and it suited them both perfectly! It was so sweet!

KRISTI & MACKENZIE’S FAVOURITE DETAILS

Centrepieces…we were stuck on what to do for a guestbook.  We were looking for more than just a signature. We found a growler for each table and had numbers put on them. We gave each table pens and paper and asked each guest to share with us advice or well wishes. We will be opening and reading the notes on the anniversary year indicated on each of the bottles. We are really looking forward to it!

In my hair, I wore three leaves that I had taken off my mothers veil and they were pinned into my hair.

The head table…It was just incredible! The majority of the pumpkins used at the wedding were grown from seeds we harvested the year before and were planned and grown by my Uncle.

WHY KRISTI & MACKENZIE CHOSE US TO PHOTOGRAPH THEIR LOVE STORY

We were lucky enough to sit with the two of you at another wedding you were photographers for and got to know you a bit that night! We had the chance to see your professionalism, and how personable you are! We had seen the work you had created for them, and for a few other couples and loved the style, creativity and elegance in your photos. It was also important for us to have two photographers! For us it was a bit more than the photos – it was the way you remembered us the next time you saw us and weren’t afraid to say hi and catch up. To us, that was the extra mile!
